Niagara County Community College limited Genesee Community College to just 17 first-half points on its way to a 79-47 Region III road victory on Wednesday night. With the win, the Thunderwolves have earned the right to host the annual Region III Div. II Tournament on Feb. 29 & March 1. NCCC, which is ranked No. 11 in the latest NJCAA Div. II polls, improved to 27-1 overall and 7-0 in regional play.
Sophomore Cierra Harrison led NCCC with 16 points, six rebounds and five assists. Sophomore forward Molly Mahony had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while classmates Aubrey Halloran and Paige Emborsky each finished with 10 points and five boards in the win.
Next up for the T-Wolves is the regular-season finale against Erie Community College. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. Saturday at NCCC.
