NCCC edges Potomac State College

Niagara County Community College held off a late rally from West Virginia University's Potomac State College to earn an 84-79 non-conference victory on Saturday afternoon at Westmoreland County Community College. It was the 200th career win for NCCC head coach Nate Beutel, who is now in his ninth season at the school. The Thunderwolves improved to 5-4 overall, while the Catamounts fell to 5-2.

NCCC sophomore Alaina Forbes led the way with 22 points, six assists and five steals in the victory. Classmate Taylor Lockwood stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, six assists, five boards and four steals. The freshman trio of Aichata Ballo, Kiya Marquez and Alissa Backert each netted 11 points.

The T-Wolves have a quick turnaround with an 11 a.m. Sunday home tip-off vs. No. 17 Union County Community College.
