NCCC rolls to season-opening win

Host Niagara County Community College had all 14 active players score in a 103-37 season-opening, non-conference victory over Corning Community College on Tuesday night.

The Thunderwolves, who led 52-16 at the half and shot a blistering 55 percent from the field, improved to 1-0 overall. Corning CC dropped to 0-1.

NCCC freshman Ashley Tucker led five players in double figures with a game-high 15 points. Sophomore Alaina Forbes had 12 points, five assists and four steals, while freshman Kiya Marquez added 12 points and four assists. 

Also for N-Trip, freshman Gabrielle McDuffie stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, six steals and four rebounds, while classmate Aichata Ballo chipped in with 10 points and eight boards off the bench.

Chyna Ames had 10 points and six rebounds for the Red Barons, who were plagued by 39 turnovers.

The T-Wolves return to action at 5:30 p.m. Wed. Nov. 10 at Lakeland Community College.
