Thunderwolves get back to winning ways

Niagara County Community College kicked off its annual Tip-Off Classic with an impressive 72-45 non-conference victory over Howard Community College on Friday night. The Thunderwolves improved to 2-1, while the Dragons fell to 2-3.

N-Trip used its stifling defense to create 31 turnovers and hold the Dragons' leading scorer Kori People to just four points on 2-of-12 shooting.

NCCC sophomore guard Alaina Forbes again led the offense, finishing with a season-high 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting. She canned six 3-pointers in the win.

Also for the T-Wolves, freshman forward Ashley Tucker had 12 points and seven boards and freshman wing Gabrielle McDuffie finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Lindsay Thweatt had 13 points to lead Howard CC.

The Thunderwolves return to action at 1 p.m. Sunday when they take on nationally-ranked Lackawanna College on the final day of the NCCC Tip-Off Classic.
