NCCC drops road contest at Lakeland

Niagara County Community College took to the road for the first time this season and dropped a 76-66 non-conference decision to Lakeland Community College on Wednesday night. The Thunderwolves dropped to 1-1, while the Lakers are now 2-0.

The game was back-and-forth throughout until a 16-5 run by Lakeland CC over the game's final three minutes proved to be the difference. N-Trip shot just 33 percent from the field and 21 percent from 3-point range. The T-Wolves were also out-rebounded 49-30.

NCCC sophomore guard Alaina Forbes finished with a team-high 23 points and freshman wing Gabrielle McDuffie added 12 points and seven boards in the setback.

Shar'Da Williamson had 23 points, including a trio of big mid-range jumpers in the final three minutes, to lead the Lakers.

The Thunderwolves return home this weekend for the annual NCCC Tip-Off Classic. Action begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday vs. Howard CC.
