Niagara County Community College had just 11 turnovers and won the rebounding battle against a much bigger opponent en route to a 79-49 non-conference win over NJCAA Div. I Monroe College on Sunday afternoon. The Thunderwolves improved to 7-2 overall, while the Mustangs are now 3-9.
Freshman Gabrielle McDuffie had a game-high 23 points and 14 rebounds for the Thunderwolves, who canned a season-high 10 3-pointers in the win.
Sophomore Alaina Forbes, meanwhile, had 16 points and a career-high 11 rebounds and freshman Kiya Marquez contributed nine points and eight assists.
Daja Wentz had 20 points to lead the Mustangs.
NCCC returns to the court at 5:30 p.m. Friday when it travels to WVU Potomac State College.
