NCCC finishes regular season with a win

Niagara County Community College closed out the regular season with a 96-60 non-conference road win at Springfield Technical Community College on Friday night.

The No. 20 Thunderwolves, winners of 17 straight games, are now 25-3 overall. The Rams fell to 8-13.

NCCC freshman Gabrielle McDuffie led a parade of five double-digit scorers with a team-best 19 points and nine rebounds in the win.

Also for N-Trip, sophomore Alaina Forbes netted 16 points, freshman Brianna Beebe had 14 points and six boards, freshman Ashley Tucker finished with 11 points and seven boards and classmate Aichata Ballo chipped in with 10 points, five assists and five steals.

All 12 active players got into the scoring column as the Thunderwolves recorded 22 steals and held a 54-30 edge on the glass.

Quiana Dishface scored 22 points to lead STCC.

The top-seeded T-Wolves will return to action at Noon Sunday when they host the Region III Championship.

Jamestown Community College and Monroe Community College will play a semifinal at Noon Saturday at NCCC to determines Sunday's matchup.
