Niagara County Community College returned to the win column with a 91-51 victory over visiting Mohawk Valley Community College as part of the inaugural NCCC Martin Luther King Jr. Classic this past Thursday. The Thunderwolves, who are receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 17-1 overall.
NCCC sophomore Tessa Schuey led a balanced effort with 13 points and three steals. Classmate Faith Alessandra had 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists, freshman Casey Mahony recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards and freshman Nadara O'Dell added 10 points and five rebounds off the bench. All 12 active players scored for N-Trip, which broke open a close game with a 29-7 third-quarter spurt.
The T-Wolves return to action at 5 p.m. Wed. Jan. 17 for their Western New York Athletic Conference opener at Monroe Community College.
