NCCC drops first game of season

Niagara County Community College suffered its first loss of the season this past weekend during the annual Philly Classic hosted by Herkimer College. The Thunderwolves are now 16-1 overall heading into a non-conference home game vs. Mohawk Valley Community College (Noon Thursday).

No. 15 (D2) Niagara CCC 71, Herkimer College 40

NCCC sophomore Faith Alessandra scored a game-high 19 points as the T-Wolves forced 30 turnovers in a dominating victory. Freshman Casey Mahony added 12 points and eight rebounds and sophomore Emily Delisle added 10 points and five boards off the bench.

SUNY Sullivan 66, No. 15 (D2) Niagara CCC 55

N-Trip freshman Rachel Kamrowski had 16 points and three steals, but it wasn't enough to overcome both a slow start and 28 percent shooting against the 12-2 Generals. Classmate Makayla Thomas added 11 points in the loss.
