T-Wolves win twice at Tip-Off Classic

Niagara County Community College knocked off two NJCAA Div. II opponents at this weekend's annual NCCC Tip-Off Classic. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 19 in the latest national rankings, improved to 6-0 on the year. Next up is a trip to Cuyahoga Community College. Tip is slated for 5 p.m. Wednesday.
No. 19 Niagara CCC 77, Lackawanna College 65
NCCC sophomore Faith Alessandra scored a career-high 33 points and grabbed four rebounds in the win. Freshman Makayla Thomas stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, eight steals and six rebounds for the T-Wolves, who forced 31 turnovers in the win.
No. 19 Niagara CCC 110, Henry Ford College 53
Alessandra had 22 points and four assists as the Thunderwolves shot 48 percent in the victory. Freshman Casey Mahony finished with 15 points and six rebounds, classmate Rachel Kamrowski had 15 points, four assists and four steals and the freshman tandem of Anaya Smith and Krystal Smith chipped in with 12 points and eight boards apiece.
