SUNY Niagara battles with Knights

SUNY Niagara battled one of the nation's best for 40 minutes before falling 73-63 in a non-conference battle vs. CCBC Essex on Sunday afternoon at neutral-site Corning Community College.

The No. 17 Thunderwolves dropped to 19-3 overall, while the No. 3 Knights moved to 18-1. 

SUNY Niagara freshman Isabella Karabetsos had a strong game, finishing with 21 points, six assists and four rebounds.

Sophomore Krystal Smith added 12 points, six boards and four assists in the setback. 

The Thunderwolves return to action at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday for a home rivalry contest vs. Erie Community College.
