Wolves split at Monroe Mixer

SUNY Niagara split a pair of games at the annual Monroe University Mixer this past weekend. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 19 in the most recent NJCAA Div. II poll, moved to 16-2 overall. They return to action at Noon Sat. at Frederick Community College - the first of three games in as many days in Maryland. 

Monroe University 60, SUNY Niagara 52

Sophomore Krystal Smith had a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds, but the T-Wolves could not overcome a 20-for-38 performance from the free-throw line. Classmate Makayla Thomas added 11 points, four boards and four steals against the NJCAA Div. I Mustangs. 

SUNY Niagara 92, SUNY Orange 41

Smith notched 21 points, 15 rebounds and six steals for SUNY Niagara, which started the game on a 23-2 run. Sophomore Rachel Kamrowski netted 19 points and classmate Anaya Smith had a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards.
