SUNY Niagara utilized a strong start to knock off previously-unbeaten Sullivan Community College, 77-50, in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Jamestown Community College. The game was part of the annual Post-Journal Jayhawk Classic.

The No. 14 Thunderwolves, who built a 23-7 lead after the opening 10 minutes, improved to 11-0 overall. The Generals, who were receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, dropped to 3-1.

SUNY Niagara sophomore Makayla Thomas had 18 points, six rebounds and four assists to lead the charge. Classmate Krystal Smith added 16 points and nine boards, while second-year forward Anaya Smith chipped in with 13 points, nine rebounds and two blocks.

The T-Wolves return to action at 5:30 p.m. Friday for a home date with Henry Ford College. The game kicks off the annual Thunderwolves Holiday Hoops Classic.
