NCCC drops a pair to NCAA opponents

Niagara County Community College lost a pair of dual meets to NCAA foes at this past weekend's Journeyman Duals hosted by Hudson Valley Community College. The Thunderwolves, who were receiving votes in the NJCAA preseason poll, are now 1-4 in dual meets this year. Next up is a home dual meet against SUNY Albany Club at 7 p.m. Friday.

RIT 43, Niagara CCC 11

NCCC freshman Greg Quinn picked up an impressive pinfall victory just 2:38 into his match at 125 pounds. Sophomore Freddy Eckles scored the other points for the T-Wolves as he earned a 16-1 technical-fall win at 141 pounds. The NCAA Division III Tigers benefitted from three pins and two forfeits.

Utah Valley 47, Niagara CCC 6

Eckles won his 141-pound match via forfeit for the only NCCC points against the NCAA Division I Wolverines.
