NCCC clips Jayhawks in dual meet

Niagara County Community College edged out visiting Jamestown Community College, 27-18, in a key Region III dual on Wednesday night. The No. 9-ranked Thunderwolves are now 5-0 in dual meets with victories over regional rivals Mercyhurst North East and Jamestown CC. 

Freshman Jourdan Scott picked up his first official win of the season at 197 pounds via a 16-4 major decision over Jesse Storch. Also for NCCC, which benefitted from three wins by forfeit, freshman Christian Robinson earned a tech-fall victory at 165 pounds.

The Thunderwolves will host the inaugural Linda Knuutila Memorial High School Tournament this weekend before returning to the mats themselves at 6 p.m. Jan. 3 against the University at Buffalo.
