NCCC grapplers open with two victories

Niagara County Community College kicked off its abbreviated 2021 season with a pair of quality non-conference victories on Friday night at Lackawanna College. The Thunderwolves knocked off Garrett College, 39-16, before taking down the host Falcons, 40-3. 

Finishing unbeaten on the day for the T-Wolves: freshman Matt Ash (125) and the sophomore trio of David Crow (157), Steve Liebler (184) and Josh Thibeault (197). 

Next on the schedule is the Region III opener on Wednesday at rival Jamestown Community College. Action begins at 6 p.m.
