NCCC completes unbeaten regular season

Niagara County Community College wrapped up an undefeated (5-0) regular season with a 31-12 Region III victory over visiting Jamestown Community College on Wednesday night. It is just the second unbeaten regular season in the program's storied history. The other came in 2006-07 when the then-Trailblazers went 12-0-1.

Sophomores Steve Liebler (184) and Maurice Jackson (185) each won via pinfall to lead NCCC. It is the fifth consecutive pin for Jackson, while Liebler remained unbeaten on the season. Winners by decision for N-Trip included: freshman Matt Ash (125), sophomore Jacob Mancuso (149), sophomore David Crow (157) and sophomore Tommy Berner (165). Ash, Crow and sophomore Josh Thibeault (197) join Liebler among the unbeaten ranks heading into next week's National qualifiers.

NCCC returns to the mats at 8 p.m. April 1 for the Region III Championships at Jamestown Community College's Physical Education Complex.
