Catanzaro named MOW at Thunderwolves Open

Niagara County Community College had four champions, including 133-pound sophomore Mike Catanzaro, at this past weekend's annual Thunderwolves Open. Catanzaro went 5-0 in the tournament, racking up four pinfalls and one technical fall. He was named Most Outstanding Wrestler of the event and Region III Wrestling Athlete of the Week. 

NCCC freshman Joseph Florance (125) also took first, finishing 4-0 with two pins and a tech-fall victory. Classmate Kace Cook was first at 157 after going 5-0 with three pins and two tech falls. Sophomore Ethan Ferro rounded out the first-place finishers as he went 3-0 with two pins at 165 pounds.

Freshmen Kenny Blowers (149) and Renso Montalvo (165) were second in their respective weight classes, while fellow frosh Quinn Brown (157) was third. 

The T-Wolves return to the mats at 3 p.m. Sat. Dec. 16th for a home dual with Penn State Behrend.
