SUNY Niagara grapplers have strong showing at Muskegon
SUNY Niagara secured a dual victory over an NCAA Division III opponent and had five place finishers at this past weekend's wrestling events hosted by Muskegon Community College. The Thunderwolves are 1-0 in dual meets as they prepare for Saturday's Defend the Lake Open hosted by Garrett College.

Freshman Kevin Daskavitz earned the decisive points with a 5-4 victory over Jack Ward at 197 pounds of the Stenberg Duals. SUNY Niagara also had three winners via pinfall: sophomore Mike Catanzaro (133), freshman Te'Shaun Mathews (157) and sophomore Cameron Hall (184). Freshman Michael Syposs won by technical fall at 165 pounds.
Catanzaro is runner-up at McMullen Open
Catanzaro had wins via pinfall and technical fall as he was runner-up at 133 pounds in the annual Ben McMullen Open. Mathews, meanwhile, was 4-1 (two pins, technical fall & major decision) on his way to third place at 157 pounds. Daskavitz (197) also took third, while Syposs (165) and freshman Ayden Downing (125) finished fourth.
