NCCC knocks off Red Barons in high-scoring affair

Niagara County Community College had its offense humming in a 7-6 Region III home victory over Corning Community College in rainy conditions on Sunday afternoon. 

The Thunderwolves, who led 6-2 midway through the second half, improved to 5-1 on the season. The Red Barons fell to 1-7.

Freshman Kara Seguin had a breakout game with three goals and two assists to lead the Thunderwolves.

Classmate Rachel Chunco continued her strong play with a hat trick of her own.

Freshman Georgia Dammann added a goal and an assist, while fellow frosh Olivia Bruning had two helpers.

Single assists were credited to the freshman duo of Kristen Mills and Rheyne Orell.

NCCC returns to the pitch at 2 p.m. Wednesday for a home regional game vs. Finger Lakes Community College.
