NCCC knocks off Timberwolves for first victory

Niagara County Community College played aggressively throughout and it paid off in the form of a 2-0 Region III home victory over SUNY Adriondack on Friday afternoon. The Thunderwolves improved to 1-6-0 overall and 1-5-0 in regional play.

NCCC freshman Rylee VanNostrand converted a penalty kick to open the scoring and classmate Arden Randle stretched the lead with an unassisted tally late in the first half. Sophomore A'layha Carter made five saves to pick up her first career shutout.

The T-Wolves will look to make it two wins in a row at 2 p.m. Sunday when they travel to Jamestown Community College.
