NCCC wins two matches at Corning CC pod

Niagara County Community College won two of its three matches at this past weekend's Region III pod at Corning CC. The Thunderwolves are now 6-10 on the season with a Western New York Athletic Conference contest set for 6 p.m. Thursday at rival Erie CC.

Corning CC 25-25-25, Niagara CCC 14-23-18

Sophomore outside hitter Miranda Newman had seven kills and five digs in the straight-set loss. Fellow second-year player Allie Bubar added six kills and seven digs and sophomore setter Morgan Boss finished with 18 assists and three aces.

Niagara CCC 25-25-25, Tompkins-Cortland CC 15-20-22

Bubar led the offensive attack with 13 kills and three aces. Sophomore middle hitter Alyssa Schlosser and freshman outside hitter Kelsi Palistrant each had 10 kills, while Boss notched 33 assists and five digs.

Niagara CCC 18-29-19-25-15, Broome CC 25-27-25-23-10

Bubar ripped 18 kills to go along with her 13 digs in the huge five-set win. Palistrant added eight kills and four digs, Schlosser had seven kills, five digs and five aces and Newman chipped in with four kills, six digs and five aces. Boss finished with 34 assists and seven digs.
