NCCC wins first match at JCC pod

Niagara County Community College finished 1-2 in Region III pod action at Jamestown Community College this past weekend. The Thunderwolves are now 1-3 on the year with pod matches set for Saturday at SUNY Adirondack.

Niagara CCC 25-25-25, Herkimer College 22-18-11

Sophomore outside hitter Allie Bubar had 11 kills and four digs to lift rookie head coach Lindsay Matikosh to her first career win. Classmate Morgan Boss had 23 assists, sophomore middle hitter Alyssa Schlosser picked up seven kills and freshman libero Kelsi Palistrant chipped in with eight digs.

Fulton-Montgomery CC 25-25-25, Niagara CCC 20-11-16

Bubar had nine kills and eight digs in the loss. Schlosser added three kills, five digs and three aces, Boss had 13 assists and Palistrant again had eight digs.

Mohawk Valley CC 25-25-25, Niagara CCC 22-16-21

Schlosser ripped seven kills and Bubar had five kills and eight digs in defeat. Sophomore middle Sydney Rodgers added five kills, Boss had 18 assists and Palistrant picked up eight digs.
