Thunderwolves take JCC to four sets

Host Niagara County Community College opened its 2019 campaign with a hard-fought, four-set loss to perennial Western New York Athletic Conference power Jamestown Community College on Thursday night. The scores were: 25-20, 25-18, 22-25, 25-19.

Sophomore McKenna Collignon led NCCC with 27 assists. Classmate Maddie Phillips had eight kills, six digs and two service aces, while freshman Samantha Chilcott notched a team-high 21 digs.

The Thunderwolves (0-1) continue WNYAC play at 6 p.m. Tuesday when they travel to rival Erie Community College.
