NCCC fall in four sets to Kats

Niagara County Community College showed improvement in its second of four scheduled spring matches against Region III rival Erie Community College on Thursday night. A week after being swept at the Flickinger Center, the Thunderwolves hung tough for four sets in their home opener. NCCC is now 0-2, while the Kats improved to 2-0.

Sophomore Jenn Myers had 12 kills to lead the NCCC offense. Classmate Kim Norman added nine kills and freshman Marissa Dusza notched eight kills. Fellow first-year player Gianna Smalley had five kills and 10 digs, sophomore Sarah Syracuse chipped in 30 assists and sophomore Zahraa Kareem finished with 18 assists in the setback. 

Jiana Kresconko had a match-high 15 kills and Leah Hapeman added 42 assists for ECC.

NCCC will travel to downtown Buffalo for another contest against the Kats at 6 p.m. March 18.
