Niagara County Community College struggled with visiting Finger Lakes Community College's length as it dropped its Region III opener in straight sets this past Saturday.
The scores were 25-15, 25-16 and 25-16 in favor of the Lakers (4-1). NCCC fell to 0-1.
Freshman Gianna Smalley led NCCC with six kills, while classmate Kaitlin Hoadley had 15 assists and first-year libero Jocelyn Swierski led the defensive charge with 14 digs.
Brandy Morrison had 12 kills and 11 digs to lead FLCC.
N-Trip returns to the court at 6 p.m. Thursday for a home tilt vs. local rival Erie Community College.
