NCCC wins a set, but falls at GCC

Niagara County Community College battled through injuries and illness to take one set, but it wasn't quite enough against host Genesee Community College in non-conference action on Tuesday night. The scores were 25-16, 25-27, 25-12, 25-21 in favor of the Cougars. NCCC dropped to 1-13 overall on the season.

N-Trip freshman Juliana Levesque put together one of her best all-around performances of the season, finishing with four kills, eight digs and two service aces. Also for the Thunderwolves, freshman Hanna Roberts had 11 digs and classmate Ashanti Thomas put down five kills.

The T-Wolves return to the court at 1 p.m. Saturday for Region III pod action at SUNY Broome. Opponents include the host Hornets and Corning Community College.
