SUNY Niagara won its first set of the year, but ultimately came out on the wrong end of a pair of Region III matches hosted by Hudson Valley Community College on Saturday morning. The Thunderwolves are now 0-6 overall and 0-4 in regional contests. Next up is a pair of games on Sat. Sept. 21 at the Erie Community College pod.
Hudson Valley CC 3, SUNY Niagara 1
Freshman Cait Cliffe had 10 kills, 14 digs and three service aces, but the T-Wolves lost 23-25, 25-16, 25-21 and 25-22. Classmate Ava Gaudy notched 12 digs and 27 assists and sophomore Juliana Levesque put down six kills.
SUNY Adirondack 3, SUNY Niagara 0
Cliffe had four kills and 15 digs in the straight-set loss. The scores were 25-14, 25-15 and 25-14. Levesque added 12 digs and Gaudy chipped in with 10 assists.
