SUNY Niagara dropped a five-set thriller to host Monroe Community College in the Western New York Athletic Conference semifinals on Saturday morning. The scores were 25-10, 25-16, 15-25, 13-25 and 15-13 in favor of the Tribunes. The Thunderwolves fell to 6-13 overall.
Freshman Cait Cliffe continued to lead the Thunderwolves, finishing with 11 kills and 14 digs. Classmate Ava Gaudy had 27 assists, six digs and three service aces, freshman Paige Van Every contributed five kills and two solo blocks and sophomore Juliana Levesque chipped in with 14 digs.
The No. 10 T-Wolves begin playoff action at 6 p.m. Tuesday with a sub-regional matchup at No. 7 Genesee Community College.
