Colosi named Gold Glove winner
Niagara County Community College sophomore Michael Colosi was recognized as an NJCAA Div. III Baseball ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner on Tuesday. The slick-fielding shortstop had a .972 fielding percentage, committing just six errors in 182 chances.
Colosi, who signed a scholarship with NCAA Div. II Gannon University, is the third NCCC player to earn the award joining former shortstops Sean Jamieson (2009) and Calvin Sluberski (2012). Colosi was also a third team NJCAA Div. III All-American and a first team All-Region III Div. III selection.
"Michael had a tremendous season for us and I'm happy to see him get recognized," NCCC coach Matt Clingersmith said of his team captain. "He is another in a long line of great shortstops here at NCCC. He is a hard-working kid and I look forward to watching him do great things at Gannon."
