NCCC takes three games from Lakers

Niagara County Community College took three of four games against Finger Lakes Community College in Region III Western Division action this past weekend. The Thunderwolves improved to 15-7 overall and 6-2 in divisional play, while the Lakers are now 12-12, 7-5. NCCC is back in action for a four-game, home-and-home series with Corning Community College on Tuesday and Thursday of this week.

Finger Lakes CC 3, Niagara CCC 2

Freshman Chad Gartland didn't allow an earned run in a complete-game effort, but the host T-Wolves fell in a tight one. Classmate Cole Laskowski had a double and a triple in the loss, while freshman Trent Wasserman notched two hits and an RBI.

Niagara CCC 7, Finger Lakes CC 1

Sophomore Ryan Peterson improved to 5-0 on the season as he went the distance on the mound. Peterson allowed three hits, no earned runs and struck out seven. Wasserman was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and freshman Andrew Fairbrother added two hits and an RBI.

Niagara CCC 7, Finger Lakes CC 4

Freshman Troy Leibert tossed 4.1 innings of scoreless relief to get the win. Laskowski had two hits and two runs scored, while fellow first-year players Zach Evans and Chris Tani each had two hits and an RBI.

Niagara CCC 10, Finger Lakes CC 1

Freshman Dylan Crowley allowed just one hit in six innings of work to lead NCCC. Sophomore Scottie O'Bryan finished with two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs. Also for N-Trip, Evans and Tani contributed two RBIs apiece.
