SUNY Niagara clinched the top seed in the upcoming regional tournament following a 93-62 Western New York Athletic Conference road win at Erie Community College on Saturday afternoon.
The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 15 in the most recent NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 22-5 overall and 5-1 in WNYAC play. ECC, meanwhile, dropped to 12-15, 2-4.
Sophomore guard Jalen Duff had a team-high 19 points for SUNY Niagara, which shot a blistering 55 percent from the field in the victory.
Sophomore Jamyier Patton and freshman Reggie Smith Jr. each finished with 17 points and five rebounds.
Freshman Chioke Marshall also scored 17 points, while sophomore Camron Dyer chipped in with 10 points and six boards.
The T-Wolves will kick off the Region III Div. II Championships with a semifinal matchup vs. Jamestown Community College (3 p.m. Saturday at SUNY Niagara). The winner will advance to Sunday's final at approximately 3 p.m.
