SUNY Niagara gets road win at JCC

SUNY Niagara built up a 15-point halftime lead and cruised to an 85-73 Western New York Athletic Conference road win at Jamestown Community College on Wednesday night.

The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 15 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 19-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play. JCC, meanwhile, dropped to 4-18, 0-2.

SUNY Niagara sophomore Jamyier Patton netted a team-high 20 points along with three steals, while freshman Chioke Marshall contributed 14 points and four steals off the bench. 

Also for the Wolves, freshman Reggie Smith Jr. had 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists, sophomore Jalen Duff notched 12 points and five boards and classmate Camron Dyer chipped in with 11 points.

The T-Wolves were disciplined throughout, commiting just five turnovers and being whistled for only 10 fouls.

SUNY Niagara returns to the court at 7:30 p.m. Wed. Feb. 5 for a home rivalry contest vs. Erie Community College.
