Thunderwolves sweep JCC

SUNY Niagara shot nearly 50 percent from the field on its way to a 95-70 Western New York Athletic Conference win over visiting Jamestown Community College on Saturday afternoon.

The Thunderwolves, who are ranked No. 13 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 22-5 overall and 4-1 in conference play. JCC, meanwhile, dropped to 4-22, 0-5.

Sophomore Bobby Beilein had a team-high 18 points, while freshman Chioke Marshall netted 14 off the bench for the Wolves.

Also for SUNY Niagara, sophomore Jamyier Patton had 13 points and seven assists, classmate Camron Dyer finished with 12 points and seven assists and second-year guard Jalen Duff chipped in with 12 points.

The Wolfpack is back in action at 3 p.m. Saturday for a road date with rival Erie Community College. A SUNY Niagara victory would secure homecourt advantage for the postseason.
