SUNY Niagara wins ranked matchup

SUNY Niagara forced 26 turnovers on its way to a comprehensive 90-77 Western New York Athletic Conference victory over visiting Monroe Community College on Saturday afternoon. 

The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 15 in the most recent NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 18-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play. No. 13 MCC, meanwhile, dropped to 15-4, 0-1.

Sophomore Jamyier Patton returned to the lineup for the first time since Jan. 5 and promptly finished with a game-high 26 points and 10 steals. 

Second-year guard Jalen Duff added 21 points and seven rebounds and freshman Chioke Marshall scored 20 off the bench.

The Wolfpack returns to action at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when it invades Jamestown Community College.
