SUNY Niagara battled back from a slow start before eventually falling to host Monroe Community College, 66-64, in a Western New York Athletic Conference battle on Wednesday night.

The No. 13 Thunderwolves fell to 21-5 overall and 3-1 in WNYAC play. No. 16 MCC, meanwhile, improved to 19-4, 3-1.

Freshman Chioke Marshall netted a game-high 16 points for the Wolfpack, which shot less than 30 percent from the field.

The Wolves return to their home floor at 3 p.m. Saturday for a conference battle vs. Jamestown Community College.
