SUNY Niagara had a strong start to the 2024-25 season with a pair of wins at this past weekend's Erie Community College Tip-Off Classic. The Thunderwolves, who are receiving votes in the NJCAA Div. II preseason poll, are now 2-0 overall as they prep for the annual Personal Best Classic hosted by Allegany College of Maryland (Nov. 8-10).
(RV) SUNY Niagara 98, Genesee CC 70
Sophomore Jamyier Patton had a game-high 26 points and nine rebounds in the convincing win. Classmate Jalen Duff added 19 points and five assists and freshman Reggie Smith Jr. finished with 10 points and five rebounds off the bench. The Thunderwolves shot 50 percent from the field, netted 55 points after intermission and held a 53-35 edge in rebounding.

Patton was the high scorer again, finishing with 20 points. Duff had 13 points and six boards, freshman Chioke Marshall netted 13, classmate Sir Patrick Livingston added 12 and sophomore Camron Dyer had 10 points and nine rebounds. The Wolves shot 25-of-32 from the free-throw line and forced 22 turnovers in the victory.
