NCCC shut out by Spartans

Niagara County Community College kept its nationally-ranked opponent nearly three goals below its season average, but it wasn't enough as it dropped a 4-0 decision to host Cayuga Community College on Wednesday evening at Falcon Park. The Thunderwolves fell to 0-7-1 overall and 0-6-0 in regional play.

NCCC defenders Jacob Korte and Kyren Johnson along with midfielders Joseph Jenkins and Augustine Bonane led a strong defensive effort for 90 minutes. Freshman backstop Eric Garcia made 12 saves. Cayuga's Chris Tielrooij, though, was too much to handle as he netted a hat trick.

The T-Wolves return to the pitch at Noon Sunday when they travel to conference rival Jamestown Community College.
