Ferro wins McMullen Open

Niagara County Community College 165-pound sophomore Ethan Ferro won five matches via pinfall to take first place at the annual McMullen Open hosted by Muskegon Community College this past weekend. Each of Ferro's opponents came from four-year schools with the longest match lasting 3:37 - championship match vs. Lakin Webb (Trine).

NCCC freshman Michael Catanzaro took fourth at 133 pounds, winning a pair of matches by pin. Classmates Kenny Blowers (141) and Renso Montalvo (157) did not reach the podium, but still won three matches.

The Thunderwolves return to the mats at Noon Saturday for the annual SUNY Brockport Duals.
