SUNY Niagara sophomore Rylee VanNostrand netted a career-high four goals as the Thunderwolves knocked off host Finger Lakes Community College, 5-0, in Region III action on Sunday afternoon. The Thunderwolves improved to 2-3-0 overall and 2-2-0 in regional play.
The Wolfpack held a narrow 1-0 edge entering the second stanza before VanNostrand cashed in three consecutive opportunities to create separation. Freshman Savannah Horvath rounded out the scoring when she converted a Natalie Hoffman cross in the final minutes.
Freshman goalkeeper Alexandria Szratter made four saves to earn her first career shutout. Classmate Samantha Furan added three assists in the victory.
The T-Wolves, who are in the midst of a postseason push, return to the pitch at Noon Saturday when they host North Country Community College.
