T-Wolves drop season opener

T-Wolves drop season opener

SUNY Niagara faced a tall task in its season opener, dropping a 10-1 decision to perennial power Monroe Community College in Western New York Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon. The host No. 14 Tribunes, members of NJCAA Div. I, improved to 3-0-1 overall. The Thunderwolves, meanwhile, fell to 0-1.

Freshman Samantha Furan put the Wolfpack on the board in the 70th minute when she converted a cross from classmate Alison Gibson. Fellow frosh Alexandria Szratter made 13 saves between the pipes.

The T-Wolves return to action at Noon Sunday at Hudson Valley Community College for their first Region III Div. III contest of the season.
