SUNY Niagara battles Redhawks to last whistle

Despite losing its second straight game to start the season, SUNY Niagara displayed great improvement in a 1-0 road setback to non-conference foe Roberts Wesleyan University JV on Wednesday night. The Thunderwolves (0-2 overall) held a narrow 11-10 edge in shots.

Freshman goalkeeper Alexandria Szratter made six saves in goal to keep the Wolfpack within striking distance for the entire 90 minutes. Sophomore Rylee VanNostrand and freshman Brionna Dussault each recorded three shots in the loss.

The T-Wolves return to action at 1 p.m. Saturday when they kick off Region III play with a match at Genesee Community College.
